The treatment with a malachite green solution  worked and the fin rot went away, but the dosage was too harsh on her eyes, and  she subsequently got cloudy eyes.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size=2&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size=2&gt;Upon reduction of the malachite dose by 50%, and running a  pre-cycled air-powered filter she has gotten better over the last 1 and a 1/2  weeks. She no longer as cloudy eyes, or fin rot, and her health has returned to  normal.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size=2&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT size=2&gt;Meanwhile, two of my koi are in a aerated tank of malachite  for treatment of Lymphocystis  (ttp://www.bristol-aquarists.org.uk/goldfish/info/diseases.htm). I believe one  of them is a deformed koi, having never grown large for the past 2 years ... They seem to be doing alright. Luckily  I already had a net in place. So far I've managed to scoop up a 10 litre bucket  of leaves. Its ridiculous!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=2&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=2&gt;After that I feed all of my fish. Most as usual  were quite happy to munch ASAP as I placed the food into the water.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=2&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt; &lt;DIV&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=2&gt;I'm having thoughts of replacing the activated  carbon on Saturday. I just went out to feed them. She (I'm sure its a she as she hasn't got any tubercules) got fin rot after the incident, and later developed one cloudy eye. She is recovering slowly, but well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Meanwhile I feed them daily, but not as much as I did during the warmer months of the year. Around the same time I continue to scoop up all the leaves from the trees.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3 more months until the goldfish spawn. That day I can't wait for. The koi usually spawn later off in the year.
